Karl Knauer receives EcoVadis bronze medal
This prestigious award recognises the company’s tireless commitment to sustainability and social responsibility and places Karl Knauer among the top 35% of companies assessed worldwide.
In order to measure its current status in the area of sustainability and identify potential for improvement, Karl Knauer has once again undergone the external rating process of EcoVadis. The packaging experts from the Black Forest once again achieved a successful result with their participation. The wide-ranging environmental measures - e.g. waste management and measures to reduce CO2 emissions - were highlighted positively, resulting in a particularly good rating in the environmental category. Philipp Beyler, Head of QHSE at Karl Knauer KG, said about the award: “We are proud of the medal and are delighted to have done so well in the current ratings. Of course, we won’t be resting on our laurels; instead, we will be implementing further optimisation measures in order to operate even more sustainably.”
A strategic decision in favour of sustainability
Instead of yielding to the constant pressure for ever greater growth and expansion, Karl Knauer has decided to take a different path. “Instead of always going faster, higher and further, we decided early on in favour of higher-quality, more efficient and more regional solutions,” explains Stefanie Wieckenberg, Managing Partner. “All of our corporate activities, from development and production to material procurement and the responsible use of resources, are geared towards sustainability.”
The results speak for themselves: In 2023, the company has become a good deal more sustainable. Karl Knauer has continuously reduced its ecological footprint by investing in environmentally friendly technologies, energy-efficient production processes and initiatives to promote fair working conditions. This is complemented by support for numerous social and community projects in the region.
