WorldStar Award for packaging solution made in the Black Forest
According to the judges, the innovative shipping packaging, developed by packaging specialist Karl Knauer for its affiliated company Pohl-Scandia, impressed with its perfect fit for three different product sizes, its optimised handling for significantly faster picking of goods, and its sustainable, easily recyclable materials.
Specially developed for sending the handcrafted chocolates of the company “Pralinenbote”, the packaging has a clever design with integrated buffer zones, which provides perfect support and protection for three different product sizes. The one-piece packaging with easy to seal adhesive strips not only reduces storage costs, but also significantly improves the picking process, making it faster and more efficient than before. And needless to say, the packaging continues to impress when it reaches the customer:
it consists of 100 % recycled fibres, captivates with its premium, sustainable design and can be opened without the need for scissors or a knife. This all makes for an unboxing experience that customers will want to repeat.
“I am sure that this type of packaging will gain popularity in future as it can be scaled in various ways, which also makes it interesting for other manufacturers and product groups”, says Jürgen D. Müller, Managing Director at Pohl-Scandia GmbH, with confidence.
Only packaging which has already won an important national or regional award is eligible for the WorldStar Award. With its triumph at the German Packaging Award 2023, the packaging developed by Karl Knauer specialists for Pohl-Scandia more than met this criteria.
