A record – even for Karl Knauer: Celebrating 50 employees’ long-service anniversaries!
50 colleagues in total who have been with the long-established Biberach company for more than 10 years were honoured on 8 November at Partyhaus Damm im Dörfle in Zell am Harmersbach by Stefanie Wieckenberg, Managing Partner and the granddaughter of company founder Karl Knauer.
However, with 10 and 20 years of service, seven and 17 colleagues respectively are still considered relative newcomers at Karl Knauer. Nine employees who have been part of the workforce for a quarter of a century received a silver deer – the company’s symbol and logo – to take home with them. The golden deer for 35 years of service as part of the Karl Knauer team was presented seven times over the course of this entertaining evening. Last but not least, the platinum deer was awarded to two employees who have been part of the Biberach workforce since 1979 – an impressive 45 years.
“We are breaking our own records this year,” commented Nicki Eberle, Karl Knauer’s Managing Director, with a smile. “50 long-serving employees with a combined total of 1,260 years of service is completely unprecedented! If this trend continues, we’ll need to find an even larger venue.” Company anniversaries were previously celebrated at Hotel Badischer Hof in Prinzbach, but it turned out to be too small for this year’s number of long-service employees.
“I am thrilled by the dedication shown to our company and, on behalf of my family, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your many years of loyalty. It’s impressive testimony to the strong sense of community we’ve cultivated here at Karl Knauer across decades and generations,” remarked Ms Wieckenberg, who is the third generation ro lead the family-run business as the founder’s granddaughter. Marco Manna, the third member of Karl Knauer’s leadership team, looked to the future as the celebration drew to a close. “I am confident that – with our team’s combined experience, expertise and innovative strength – we will continue supplying all of Europe with packaging, promotional products, gift packaging and packaging machinery which – like us and our long-serving employees – are ‘impressively different’, and indeed truly typical of Karl Knauer.”
