Karl Knauer supports tree-planting project
From tree to packaging and back again: a cycle with a future
On behalf of the German Printing and Media Industries Federation (bvdm), the Stiftung Unternehmen Wald confirms that by planting nearly 600 trees in the Granestausee forest area in the Harz region of Lower Saxony, a climate donation will be made to offset the CO₂ emissions from 2024. This measure makes a valuable contribution to stabilizing the local climate and strengthening Germany’s forests.
The proximity of this project is no coincidence – for Karl Knauer, the tree is far more than just a symbol. Wood, as a natural raw material, forms the basis of many materials that Karl Knauer processes into packaging and promotional products made of paper, cardboard, and corrugated board. A healthy forest is far more than an expression of ecological responsibility – it is the essential foundation for ensuring sustainable value chains.
“Climate protection is not an abstract issue for us, but a concrete responsibility that we face every single day,” emphasizes Stefanie Wieckenberg, Managing Partner of Karl Knauer KG. “By planting nearly 600 trees in the Harz, we are deliberately engaging right where the origin of our products lies: in the forest. In this way, we take responsibility for the raw material we work with every day – and demonstrate that sustainability begins locally and has a global impact.”
With this initiative, Karl Knauer KG once again underscores its commitment to living ecological responsibility in a holistic and future-oriented way.
