With a score of 66 out of 100, among the top 31 percent of assessed companies

The Karl Knauer Group has been awarded a Bronze Medal in the latest EcoVadis sustainability rating. With a score of 66 out of 100, it ranks among the top 31 percent of companies assessed by EcoVadis during the preceding twelve months. Its overall score increased by seven points compared with the previous assessment.

EcoVadis assesses the quality of a company’s sustainability management system across four themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Karl Knauer was assessed under the “Group” rating scope, covering the corporate group and its two production sites in Biberach, Germany, and Pniewy, Poland

External certifications as a demonstrable strength

The Karl Knauer Group performed particularly well with regard to external certifications. It achieved 100 out of 100 points for the respective certification indicator in both the environment and labor and human rights themes.

The production sites in Biberach and Pniewy maintain numerous certifications and externally audited management systems. These include certification to ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, and ISO 50001 for energy management. Both sites also hold Living PSO and FSC® certifications as well as hygiene-related certifications.

Certifications help companies, among other things, establish appropriate management systems and implement relevant legal requirements in a structured manner. At the same time, they enable independent third parties to review and assess defined processes. In the EcoVadis sustainability rating, such external certifications are taken into account as supporting evidence in the assessment.

“For customers and business partners, it is becoming increasingly important that requirements relating to the environment, working conditions, and responsible corporate governance are not merely stated but supported by verifiable evidence. External certifications and the EcoVadis rating provide transparency in this regard. At the same time, the assessment shows us the areas in which we can continue to improve,” explains Philipp Beyler, Head of QHSE at Karl Knauer KG.

The EcoVadis Bronze Medal was issued in June 2026. Further information on the current assessment is available on the EcoVadis Recognition Page:  https://recognition.ecovadis.com/jAU5RMfapkShsIhQfA8fSA
