Golden Details for the Paloma Set
Karl Knauer develops bottle packaging for Perola’s Topanito Paloma Set
The Paloma is a Mexican cocktail made with tequila and grapefruit soda. The Topanito Paloma Set contains a bottle of Topanito Blanco Tequila and a bottle of Thomas Henry Pink Grapefruit. Topanito is a proprietary brand of spirits supplier Perola. The packaging needed to convey the quality of the products and reflect the Paloma’s Mexican origins in its design. Perola sells the set through retailers and directly to consumers.
“We had worked with Karl Knauer several times before and were very pleased with both the process and the results. Collaboration on the Paloma Set was straightforward and productive, too. We were able to contribute our ideas and received expert advice all the way through to the finished packaging,” says Dominik Hundhammer, Head of Operations at Perola.
Secure Hold and a Clear View
Karl Knauer developed a structural design tailored to the different bottle formats and completed the project in June 2026. An additional tab in the upper section of the packaging holds the bottles securely in place. Two large windows provide a clear view of the products and their labels.
The graphic design was created by Perola. Bands of patterns featuring stylized agaves and colorful geometric elements wrap around the cream-colored surfaces. Gold hot foil stamping highlights the Topanito logo on the front and the emblem on the top. The back features a cocktail recipe and a QR code linking to the recipe video.
“With intricate motifs, it’s important to know which details can be reproduced cleanly using hot foil stamping. We advised Perola on this and tailored the execution to the graphic design,” explains Lara Armbruster, Key Account Manager at Karl Knauer.
