At a ceremony on 26 October 2023, Thomas Strobl, Baden-Württemberg's Deputy Minister President and Minister of the Interior, Digitalization and Migration, presented packaging specialist Karl Knauer with an employer award for supporting civil protection volunteers.

This award, which the state of Baden-Württemberg presents every five years, recognizes the Biberach-based family business's commitment to supporting its employees in their voluntary work for organizations such as the German Life Saving Association, the German Red Cross, the Federal Agency for Technical Relief, and the Voluntary Fire Service. Karl Knauer was nominated for the award by the Voluntary Fire Service for the Biberach/Baden area, where eight members of the Karl Knauer team are active in the interests of the community. “We are thrilled with this award, and it encourages us to continue supporting our employees in their voluntary work,” says Stefanie Wieckenberg, Managing Director at Karl Knauer KG. “It’s something special when you have people in your team who get involved in voluntary work; they play a valuable role in social cohesion, both inside and outside the company. And that matters more than ever these days.”
