Making a positive difference for 25 years

To this day, a quarter of a century on from Karl Knauer's death, associations and institutions in the successful entrepreneur's home region are still benefiting from financial support each year.

This is due to the founder and namesake of the Biberach-based packaging specialist Karl Knauer creating a foundation shortly before his death in 1995, which has to date provided charitable causes with a total of around 600,000 euros. In keeping with Karl Knauer's spirit, the foundation provides low-profile support for social and cultural facilities in Biberach and the Harmersbach Valley. The Board of Trustees and the Executive Board primarily select associations and institutions that play an active role in promoting and supporting young people, culture and sport. Social facilities such as retirement homes, nurseries and community centres also regularly benefit from donations. Depending on the interest earned on endowment capital, between 20,000 and 30,000 euros flow back into the region each year, allowing something of the visionary founder’s sense of regional connection and responsibility to live on.
