It isn't just summer that’s in full swing; preparations for the Christmas shopping season are also well under way. At the very latest, the end of year sales push will come to the fore when chocolate Santas and mince pies hit the shelves in just a few weeks time. Therefore, just in time for the gifting season, Karl Knauer KG presents its new products in the gift packaging segment. In addition to a wide variety of gift cartons and folding boxes, the product range includes a selection of baskets, gift bags, wooden boxes, decorative items and cardboard displays, revealing four main trends for 2018/19.
The packaging specialist from the Black Forest, who recently awed the professional world with luminous packaging and labels, continues to rely on high-quality workmanship and natural materials, this time in the gift packaging segment. Karl Knauer has developed a dozen new products for the presentation of wine and champagne gifts for the 2018/19 season. The following four main trends are evident.
Trend 1: Minimalism: Pure, natural pleasure True to the saying "less is more", Karl Knauer's new "PURE line" also focuses on the natural feel and effect of its cardboard material. Its scaled back, minimalist appearance, in natural or black, highlights the desire of many customers for natural packaging and at the same time creates the perfect surface for individual embossing. This way, natural materials and simple elegance are perfectly combined. Those who like a natural look but don’t want to miss out on motifs, will find expressive alternatives in the “Naturell/Natural” and “Genieße das Leben/Enjoy Life” themes of the Biberach based company’s range.
Trend 2: Customisation: Festive table delights Gifts with a personal touch are as popular as ever. With the gift box design “Schneegestöber/Snow Flurry”, Karl Knauer now offers a creative opportunity to easily personalise packaging yourself: Thanks to a special, innovative coating, the box can be written on with normal chalk and - just like a school blackboard - this can be wiped off again with a damp cloth whenever you like. In addition to the printed Christmas greeting and motif, there is ample space on the box for a personal message. This is sure to win the person giving the gift some brownie points under the Christmas tree.
Trend 3: Stripes: A classic trend If there is a pattern that you can't escape at the moment, then it’s stripes. Karl Knauer ’s “Enjoy” gift box has a contemporary black-and-white stripe pattern and is further enhanced with golden dots. Therefore, not only is it perfect for all kinds of gifts but also for the next trend, which is already foreseeable: Dots.
Trend 4: Black, grey, gold: In a glossy (or matte) combination Golden tones still distinguish exclusive gifts and packaging - and not just at Christmas. Whilst the “Sternennacht/Starry Night” theme shines with golden stardust and stars in gold and silver against a black background, Karl Knauer's "Brilliant" and "Nostalige/Nostalgy" themes come in rich dark grey or brown tones as a contrast to the matte/gloss finish of the motifs. The champagne and wine folding box “Brilliant” is truly eye-catching, not only because of the elegant colour scheme, but above all because of the relief embossing and the extraordinary design. It is almost reminiscent of a sculpture. It is perfect for that very special gift occasion.
